Happy New Year everyone! Time flies and I can't believe how much I've grown since last year. However, I have something to confess...
You see, at the beginning of 2018… I wasn’t very happy, confident, or clear in what I wanted. I just graduated from college. No job. No goals. No where to go.
On top of that, I decided to give up on going to an architecture school in Colorado. I decided not to go to a graduate school.
I wasn't sure if it was the right decision. But I knew I wanted MORE. I knew there was more to life than going back to school and ending up having more debt in student loans.
And now, at the end of 2018, I’m happy to say I’m looking forward to 2019 with more optimism, hope, and clarity than ever.
So what changed?
I found a path.
Back when I was in college, I made YouTube videos for fun. I didn't think much of how I could monetize it. All I knew was that I enjoyed doing it.
Slowly, my subscribers grew. From 1,000 to 10,000. From 10,000 to 100,000 within 2 years.
When I hit 100k subscribers, I knew I could turn my channel into a business. However, I didn't know how.
I stumbled upon a YouTube video with a man in his red suit, listened to his talk, and (while skeptical at first) I looked further into what he had to say.
What I found was he went from a poor teenage immigrant and 150K in debt to becoming a self-made multimillionaire, now with over 1 million YouTube subscribers and millions of fans around the world.
But that’s not the important part. What’s important is I’ve learned 3 counterintuitive lessons from him.
Lessons that have changed the way I view my relationships, money, and life. And I want to share them with you today:
1.) BE READY FOR SUCCESS
This is counterintuitive because we all think we want success. But if you take a deeper look, you’ll see most people aren’t ready to handle success… at least not in a major way.
I’m not sure if you know this, but almost all lottery winners lose their fortune within 2 years of receiving their prize. A big part of this is because they weren’t ready for success.
You see, in order to become successful in real life, you must first be successful in your own mind. That’s how you become ready for success when it arrives.
2.) ADD VALUE FIRST
In order to make the money you want, you must add value first. That’s how the economy and the world works.
How do you add more value? You become skilled. If you look at the highest professions in the world - doctors, lawyers, engineers - you’ll see they are also highly skilled.
From my mentor, I’ve learned a skill that adds a lot of value to the world and helps people solve tough problems through my business and also my YouTube channel.
You might have seen it on my profile, this skill is called High-Ticket Closing. If you want to see the first training my mentor gave me, you can check it out here for free: https://bit.ly/2s0Gx6K
Because I’ve acquired this skill, I can add value to people’s lives. And because I can add value to people, my money problems will be taken care of.
3.) TAKE ACTION, EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT CERTAIN
Nothing changes without action.
For a long time, I wanted to be 100% sure before taking action. When I was in college, I got 3.999 GPA because I made sure that all my projects were perfect.
However, I realized this wasn’t getting me what I wanted… all that it got me was wasted time.
So this year, I made a commitment to take whatever action was needed for me to reach my goals. What’s interesting is that once I took action… everything else fell into place.
Now, I’m happier than before. I'm grateful for everybody, especially my husband, who helped and supported me in my journey.
I’ve published 3 books that are helping others improve their lives. I still can't believe I did it all in 2018.
I’m not saying I’m perfect or that I’m always happy. But following the three lessons above… I’ve grown a lot this year.
Maybe you’re skeptical, maybe you don’t believe me, or you might not even care. And that’s fine. But if you found this post valuable, leave me a comment or send me a message.
Here’s to an amazing 2019. Happy New Year.
